Galilea is approximately 17 km from Mallorca’s capital, Palma. The town is nestled in the southwestern part of the coastal mountains. The view is spectacular. Look around, and you see stone terraces, stone architecture, rugged mountain peaks, lush valleys and the Mediterranean Sea in the distance. Visit La Reserva Aventur, a nature reserve to learn about the native animals of Mallorca and take in its breathtaking views. But that’s not all; the park also offers activities for adrenaline seekers including a zip lining through the forest, bouldering, and a Tibetan rope bridge crossing. Near the village, you’ll find Roman remains (Es Gall de Foc and Son Net) and ancient lookout towers known as Talayots.
A short drive through Puigpunyent, and you arrive in the island’s capital, Palma. The city is well known for its imposing cathedral, port, historic district and walking zones. The Moorish architecture, museums, and city fortifications are very old and fascinating. Foodies will appreciate the numerous excellent restaurants. And you must stay for the nightlife! Especially between Balneario Nº 1 and Balneario Nº 15, where you’ll find all kinds of different establishments worth visiting!
For those seeking original art or handmade art pieces are recommended to visit Pórtel. 25km from Palma, you encounter a village of potters making and selling native pottery.
